What we provide

Space and choice to nurture curiosity, exploration and independence

Big Funhouse is our 2.5 to 6 year old house. We have a roll of 30 young children each day at a ratio of 1:8.
Big Funhouse is the perfect extension to Little Funhouse. By the time our tamariki reach two and a half years they become ready for that next level of exploration and independence. The whole environment is set up for this independent exploration and social interaction, with lots of choice to support our ākonga to thrive.
Our onsite cook prepares fresh meals daily catering for children who are on a full diet as well as catering for our tamariki with food allergies.
We understand that some of our 2 and 3 year olds are still wearing nappies and support the process of toilet training when your child is ready.
We provide wipes, powder, and nappy cream but request that parents please provide your choice of nappies/pull ups which we keep in a named cubby and use on your child only.
We also know that some children are still having a day sleep at this age and we have a sleep room to facilitate this.
Your child will also have their own cubby locker where their bag and belongings are kept together.

At Big Funhouse, we follow a free play and free choice curriculum where we ensure to set up a variety of resources and equipment that stimulate and encourage growth in each of the areas of development.
Once a fortnight, our tamariki look forward to an excursion to the Boys and Girls Gym Club.
And once a fortnight the library bus visits our centre too.
We are also the owners of the red buggies you may have seen around town so we love to take our tamariki on excursions down Victoria Avenue, down to the river, to Cooks Gardens for a run around the track, the pet shop and more.
