Settling In

A good introductory period supports your child to feel secure and confident in their new enironment. We suggest visiting a few times before your official start date so that Funhouse and its teachers become familiar to your child. During these visits you are welcome to explore the environment with your child, get a feel for the routines and rhythms of the day, get to know the teachers, and share information about your child and what is important to your family.

Our “All About Me” sheets allow you to share with us your child’s special ways of communicating, ways he/she likes to be comforted, when and how they like to go to sleep, their favourite foods, important people in their lives, interests, likes and dislikes, and so on.

Each child is different. Some settle straight away and others take a little bit of time. We find our younger tamariki benefit from a number of visits first with you, then without, then visits that include a sleep before starting full time.
